I created Therese Made because of my own engagement ring shopping experience. We were looking for a rare type of tourmaline called Paraiba and many gem dealers tried to sell us similar looking gems. By the end of the week, we were frustrated and the fun engagement ring shopping experience we hoped for became a nervous task.
From that experience, I understood couples needed a trustworthy and comfortable environment to shop for their engagement rings, especially if they wanted something unique. It became my mission to help make engagements an extra special time for all couples.
With the encouragement and support from my husband, we took our savings and invested into my GIA Graduate Gemologist degree. I learned about and graded over 500 gemstones and diamonds, giving me full knowledge of the gem market.
As a GIA Graduate Gemologist, I love helping couples choose their diamonds or color gemstones for their custom engagement rings. I use a state-of-the art CAD (computer aided design) program to create the custom engagement ring designs. The CAD program allows for unlimited custom design options and life-like renders of the final ring.
